SO.LO Arts Cultural Playground & Gallery, in honor of women’s history month, presents -Unus Mundus: The Sacred Marriage of Spirit & Matter, the debut solo exhibition by contemporary painter Zoe Rose. The immersive installation transforms the gallery into a circular walk-through environment exploring feminine power, transformation, and the profound unity underlying existence.
Rooted in Swiss psychologist Carl Jung’s concept of Unus Mundus—the “one world” in which spirit and matter are inseparable—the exhibition brings together two distinct bodies of work that give perceptible form to this philosophical vision. Through scale, color, and spatial architecture, the paintings form an experiential field that is not only viewed but entered and felt.
The exhibition unfolds through two concentric environments.
The outer circle, The Matrix of Matter, surrounds viewers with monumental nude self- portraits—bold, luminous, and unapologetic. Saturated in vermilion, cobalt, and gold, Zoe Rose’s body becomes both subject and symbol: sovereign, confrontational, and alive. Through dynamic color and scale, flesh appears vibrational rather than fixed, forming a living perimeter where the body becomes temple and matter itself acts as a gateway to spirit.
At the center lies The Matrix of Spirit, where the work shifts into the imaginal realm—a space of intuition, potential, and rebirth. Dreamlike blue paintings trace a descent into what the artist describes as the “great cosmic womb,” the primordial ground from which image, thought, and identity arise. Here form dissolves and a deeper essence emerges.
Anchoring the installation are three powerful self-portraits:
The Weaver of Worlds, A Remarkable Meeting of the Great Alchemical Rose, and The Sacred Love of Venus—iconic embodiments of the Divine Feminine as creator, initiator, and force of integration.
Unus Mundus ultimately proposes a living cosmology of feminine consciousness. From one artist’s inward journey arises a reflection of a universal movement toward integration, awakening, and unity. Through its circular architecture and symbolic imagery, the exhibition reveals the Self, the World, and the Absolute as interwoven expressions of one indivisible existence—the sacred marriage of spirit and matter.
Zoe Rose (b. 1996) is a self-taught contemporary painter whose work explores self-realization through mythic figuration and visionary landscape. She lives and works in Kauai, HI.
