Cosmic Cycles: A Space Symphony
Music composed by Henry Dehlinger
Visuals by NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center
The UNSW Orchestra is thrilled to present the second international performance of Henry Dehlinger’s Cosmic Cycles: A Space Symphony - a suite of seven symphonic poems inspired by space with NASA’s stunning science imagery and data visualisations of the Sun, Earth, Moon, Planets, and Cosmos, projected in HD on a giant screen.
Composed in close collaboration with NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and its Scientific Visualization Studio, and commissioned by National Philharmonic (USA), Cosmic Cycles is a bold and evocative journey through the Cosmos that touches humanity’s desire to explore the unknown.
Coupling a live performance of Dehlinger’s breathtaking score with extraordinary visuals produced by a team of multimedia producers at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center consisting of images processed from the Hubble and James Webb space telescopes, as well as hundreds of richly rendered 3D visualisations, animations and simulations, this concert will be an extraordinary and exciting event like no other.
This transformative project takes the audience on a captivating voyage through the universe, showcasing the beauty and power of the marriage between music and science.
