Who?

The workshop is aimed at PhD candidates, research associates, research software engineers, and professors working on acoustic-related topics. We do not accept registrations by undergraduate and master students.

Day 1 - Thursday Afternoon:

• 2:15 PM - 3:00 PM: Keynote Address: "The Future of Acoustics with Open Research Software" by Maarten Hornikx, and Questions.

• 3:00 PM - 3:45 PM: Presentation of best practices examples on sharing research software from own work, which is based on open research software on GitHub/Zenodo. Questions & Discussions

• 3:45 PM – 4:00 PM: Coffee break and Networking
• 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Speaker Sessions:
• "Pyroomacoustics: A software package aimed at the rapid development and testing of audio array processing algorithms. " by Eric Bezzam (EPFL).
• "Noise Modelling: A tool designed to produce environmental noise maps on very large urban areas. " by Pierre Aumond (UMRAE- Université Gustave Eiffel)

Day 2 - Friday Morning:

• 9:00 AM - 9:45 AM: Instructions and guidelines for acceleration of sharing research software, following best practices: sharing, licencing, software citations, repositories, publishing team software reviewing

• 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM: Speaker Sessions:

• "Virtual Acoustics: A software for simulating and auralizing acoustic environments. " by Lukas Aspöck (RWTH Aachen University)

• "Soundscapy: A python library for analysing and visualising soundscape assessments. " by Andrew Mitchell (University College London)

This event is open and free to all researchers in acoustics. Since there will be catering service provided for free, we value the commitment of our participants and strive to provide the best experience possible during our events. Therefore, we have a cancellation and no-show policy that outlines the rules around cancellations and establishes the consequences of late cancellations and no-shows.

· a no-show/cancellation fee of 30 euros applies for on-site participants when:
