11/4 - Reactivity
🕑: 06:00 PM - 07:00 PM
November 4th - Reactivity With People & Other Dogs
Host: Maria Huntoon, CBCC-KA, CPCN
Info: Behavior challenges often signal deeper needs. Reactivity and aggression in dogs (whether with other dogs, new people, resource guarding, etc.) is often rooted in fear and insecurity. To truly address the issue, we must work at its root.
Dogs need calm, respectful leadership, positive reinforcement, and gradual exposure to triggers within their comfort zone. Understanding canine body language and setting up safe, structured learning environments are key to helping dogs build confidence and impulse control, and reduce reactivity.
While aggression is complex and requires time and patience to address, with proper guidance and consistent support, meaningful progress is possible. Come learn how to create a compassionate plan that supports lasting change and stronger bonds between you and your dog.
11/18 - Anxiety
🕑: 06:00 PM - 07:00 PM
November 18th - Separation Anxiety & Destructive Behaviors
Host: Maria Huntoon, CBCC-KA, CPCN
Info: Behavior challenges often signal deeper needs. Separation can be stressful for dogs and challenging for us. While many dogs dislike being left alone, true separation anxiety is a deeper emotional response—marked by panic and distress when their owner departs. This condition goes beyond mild discomfort and requires structured behavior modification using counterconditioning and desensitization techniques in small manageable steps.
Some dogs exhibit destructive behavior as a result of generalized anxiety due to factors such as genetics, insufficient early socialization, lack of foundational training, or past trauma. These dogs may struggle to relax, react strongly to changes in routine, have difficulty adapting to major life transitions, and display heightened arousal during triggering events such as storms, guest visits, or other environmental stress. Come learn how to come up with a compassionate plan that supports lasting change and a healthier balance between you and your dog.
12/2 - Nutrition
🕑: 06:00 PM - 07:00 PM

Info: Choosing the right diet for your dog can feel overwhelming, especially with the vast array of options in today’s pet food industry. Whether you're dealing with a current health or behavior issue or simply want to be proactive, Maria offers personalized guidance to help you select a diet that fits your dog’s needs and your lifestyle.
