UNIVERSITY est un groupe britannique, formé par Zak Bowker (chant/guitare), Ewan Barton (basse/synthés), Joel Smith (batterie) et Eddie, leur mystérieuse "mascotte" qui joue à la console sur scène. Leur musique, un mélange explosif de hardcore, punk et emo, est décrite par eux-mêmes comme "se faire frapper au visage par un gorille, puis être câliné ensuite". Leur premier EP, Title Track, sorti en novembre 2023 chez Transgressive Records, a été salué pour son énergie brute et son humour absurde.
Des titres comme "Notre Dame Made Out of Flesh" et "King Size Slim" illustrent leur approche décalée et percutante. Leur premier album, McCartney, It'll Be OK, est prévu pour le 20 juin 2025. Sur scène, UNIVERSITY se distingue par des performances théâtrales et chaotiques, où Eddie joue à Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2pendant que le groupe déchaîne une tempête sonore. Leur esthétique DIY et leur sens de l'absurde en font l'un des groupes live les plus intrigants du Royaume-Uni actuellement.

UNIVERSITY is een Britse band gevormd door Zak Bowker (zang/gitaar), Ewan Barton (bas/synths), Joel Smith (drums) en Eddie, hun mysterieuze ‘mascotte’ die de speeltafel bespeelt op het podium. Hun Muziek, een explosieve mix van hardcore, punk en emo, wordt door henzelf omschreven als ‘in het gezicht geslagen worden door een gorilla en daarna geknuffeld worden’. Hun debuut EP ‘Title Track’ werd in november 2023 uitgebracht op Transgressive Records en werd geprezen om zijn rauwe energie en absurdistische humor.
Tracks als ‘Notre Dame Made Out of Flesh’ en ‘King Size Slim’ illustreren hun eigenzinnige, harde aanpak. Hun debuutalbum ‘McCartney, It’ll Be OK’ verschijnt op 20 juni 2025. Op het podium staat UNIVERSITY bekend om hun chaotische, theatrale optredens, waarbij Eddie Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 speelt terwijl de band een storm van geluid loslaat. Hun DIY-esthetiek en gevoel voor het absurde maken hen tot een van de meest intrigerende live-acts in de UK.
