About this Event
Hosted by the Staffordshire Games Institute, this two-day professional development event is designed specifically for FE tutors, college lecturers, and educators looking to develop their understanding of Unreal Engine and contemporary games development workflows.
As the number 1 Games Development School in the UK, the University of Staffordshire works closely with Epic Games and other industry partners to support the next generation of games education. This summit has been designed to provide practical, hands-on training that educators can take directly back into the classroom.
The event will feature two dedicated learning tracks:
🔹 Beginner Track
Ideal for educators new to Unreal Engine or looking to build confidence with the software. Sessions include:
- Building Your First Game in Unreal Engine
- Introduction to Niagara and VFX
- Portfolio Lighting and Presentation
- Practical classroom-ready activities and teaching ideas
🔹 Intermediate / Advanced Track
Designed for attendees with prior Unreal Engine experience who want to explore more advanced workflows and emerging technologies, including:
- Unreal Engine Audio Systems
- Virtual Production Workflows
- Developing a Dungeon Crawler Game
- Advanced real-time development techniques
Alongside the workshops, attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Network with fellow educators from across the UK
- Explore current industry workflows and expectations
- Discuss progression pathways into Higher Education and the games industry
- Learn more about Unreal Engine’s growing role across the creative industries
The summit runs from 9:30am–5:00pm across both days and attendance is free, though spaces are limited.
