University of Birmingham Chinese Music Ensemble concert

Date: Wednesday 3rd June 2026, 1.30pm-2.30pm

Location: University of Birmingham, Aston Webb Building, Dome Lecture Theatre (117)

Join the University of Birmingham's Race Equality Staff Network, hosting the Birmingham Chinese Music Ensemble, a contemporary group centred on Chinese instrumental traditions while exploring cross-cultural collaboration and new musical possibilities. This ensemble is made up of both students and professional musicians.

We will be hosting an lunchtime concert where members of the Ensemble will be performing both solo and ensemble pieces on traditional Chinese instruments, including Chinese flute, xiao, guzheng and percussion. The programme will consist of traditional pieces and arrangements of contemporary “Guofeng” (Chinese-style popular) music.

This is a ticketed event as there are limited seats available. Please do cancel any tickets if you can no longer attend the concert.

欢迎加入由伯明翰大学 Race Equality Network (种族平等教职员工协会) 主办的本次活动，特邀伯明翰中国音乐合奏团演出。该团体是一个以中国传统器乐为核心、同时探索跨文化合作与音乐创新的当代表演团体，由学生与专业音乐家共同组成。

本次午间音乐会将由合奏团成员带来独奏与合奏节目，演奏多种中国传统乐器，包括笛子、箫、古筝以及打击乐。演出曲目将涵盖传统作品以及当代“国风”（中国风流行音乐）的改编作品。

由于座位有限，本活动需凭票入场。如您无法参加，请及时取消门票。
