Hard grooving Hammond organ quartet in the mode of the early 60's, inspired by legends of the organ, Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff and Big John Patton.
Unity are a Hammond organ quartet in the mode of classic bands from the 1960's. Jazz organists such as Larry Young, Jimmy Smith, 'Big' John Patton, Lonnie Smith, 'Brother' Jack McDuff and Jack McGriff defined a sound that would lead the way to soul jazz, fusion, and the funk and groove of the 1970's. The Hammond sound took the gospel of the church and brought it to the club!
Expect burning tempo modal workouts, swinging blues, gospel shouts and Latin-infused grooves. And featuring Helen Gayles on vocals.
