We’re excited to announce that Rev. Kim will be offering a United Church Youth Group and confirmation class (confirmation is optional) for any youth in Lunenburg and Queens County. These gatherings are open to anyone 13-years-old or older who are interested in becoming part of a community of young people interested in having deep and meaningful conversation about life, God, faith, social justice, and more from a United Church perspective. We will gather six times between October 2025 and March 2026 on Thursday evenings at 7 pm.
Our time together will include videos, discussions, spiritual practices, and online communications between our gatherings (social platform to be discussed with youth and parents). Rev. Kim has relied on the Narthex curriculum from Regions East of The United Church of Canada to provide a foundation for the program she is finalizing for this group. The program is taking shape around the basics of the United Church ethos and theology provided by this resource. It will be flexible enough to allow for us to address the unique needs expressed by the youth in this program.
Attendance and participation in all six in-person sessions is mandatory to be eligible for confirmation at the end of March. Youth who may already be confirmed or youth not interested in being confirmed yet are welcomed to join this community for any or all of our sessions. The service of Confirmation for youth from Bridgewater United Church will be on Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 10:30 am. Youth from other congregations will be assisted in seeking confirmation in their own contexts.
The proposed dates for our gatherings are:
October 16, November 13, December 4, January 8, February 5, March 5
All sessions start promptly at 7 pm on a Thursday in the Chapel at Bridgewater United Church and will be no longer than 90 minutes. Please respond to Rev.
