Hunger Awareness Event: Clay to Culinary to CommunityWe're excited to invite you to the first ever Union County EMPTY BOWLS event on September 22nd at Bistro '52. Come enjoy a delicious lunch of soup and bread, served in a unique hand glazed bowl. Every bowl symbolizes the empty bowls in our community and serves as a reminder of those who go hungry.
Help us to create awareness of hunger issues and provide support to local agencies by participating in EMPTY BOWLS. Studio time is open (see below) and provides a wonderful shared experience for friends, family and co-workers. We will break bread and enjoy culinary delights of soup, bread and desserts on Sunday, September 22.
Bowl glazing and creating for the community lunch begins June 12 . Crooked Door Studio, our artist partner, will be open for groups and individuals to share their talent, time and treasure for the first hunger awareness event of its kind in the region! Open studio: Wednesdays from 4pm to 7:30pm and Saturdays from 10am to 1:30pm at Crooked Door Studio, 125 N. Main St. Marysville OH 43040. If you're molding and decorating your own bowl with clay slab, August 4th is the last day to create! Space is limited to 10 at a time. Purchase your bowl option asap!
EMPTY BOWLS, the community lunch, will be held in the Memorial Hospital In-Patient Pavilion's renown Bistro '52 on Sunday, September 22nd. Lunch begins at 11:00am with the last seating at 1:30pm. Each $20.00 ticketed guest will chose a stoneware bowl to keep from our collection and enjoy a gourmet bowl of soup, homemade bread, and dessert in the Bistro. Water will be provided; however, drinks may be purchased separately.
*If your group wants private studio time, you can indicate this on the order form! We can create a special studio experience for you and your friends, family or workgroup.
