Union City,CA & Newark,CA CERT :: Amateur Radio Introduction

Ryan from Union City CERT, will present. Ryan holds an extra class amateur radio license and is a volunteer examiner to proctor amateur radio license exam, he has been licensed since 2012. Ryan will provide an overview of amateur "ham" radio, its application in our CERT programs, how to get licensed, and next steps. Amateur Radio is an engaging hobby with real world applications right here at CERT. The barrier to entry has never been lower with affordable radios and no morse code requirement! Union City and Newark CERTs have both invested in Amateur Radio equipment over the years want to foster growth in our communications unit so come learn about how to get on the air with us. We will have a live demonstration of radio equipment and Q&A. This will be an in-person training with a hybrid option on zoom.
