About this Event
Tuesday May 5 and Thursday May 7 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Participants of this course will be able to:
- Compare rates of SUD and Mental Health in Veteran and Civilian population
- Understand the internal and external barriers Veterans face when seeking treatment
- Demonstrate an understanding PTSD, transference and counter-transference as it applies to Veterans
- Identify and describe resources for Veterans, including those who do not have access to the Veterans Administration
- Understand the effects of military culture on both addiction and recovery
- Demonstrate an ability to effectively engage with Veterans using motivational interviewing and Trauma Informed Care
This is an MABPCB-approved training.
Eligible for 10 CEUs upon completion (Advocacy 2.5, Ethical Responsibility 1, Mentoring/Education 4.75, Recovery/Wellness 1.75)
