About this Event
Unheard Voices Project is amplifying stories of those experiencing homelessness in our community
“All humans, no matter where they come from, want to feel seen, heard, and valued.”
–Daisy Auger Domingez
This project seeks to live out this idea to its core– to foster empathy and understanding within our own community. Over 4 months, Lindsay, spoke to, interviewed, and photographed people on The Hill and Pearl Street who are currently experiencing homelessness. After getting to know these individuals, she transcribed the interviews, selected portions that stood out, and treated the photos. Lindsay designed a tangible experience, bringing each individual’s story to life, with the hope that the community can listen to, understand, and truly hear its members… even if just a bit clearer.
This event will take place at The Museum of Boulder, this program is in partnership with Bridge House.

Lindsay Shermeta BIO:
Lindsay Shermeta is a recent graduate in Strategic Communications and Media Design from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She has always believed that everyone should have an equal chance to share their story. This belief was the foundation of her Honors Thesis project, which culminated in the exhibit titled "Unheard Voices of Boulder: Amplifying Stories of Those Experiencing Homelessness in Our Community," displayed at the Museum of Boulder.Driven by a commitment to social justice and community engagement, Lindsay spearheaded this event to build on the success of her thesis exhibit. She aims to create a platform for the "unheard" voices of Boulder, allowing them to share their experiences and challenges. Lindsay is deeply passionate about this cause, seeing understanding and empathy as the first steps towards meaningful change. By using her design skills and passion for storytelling, she hopes to foster a more inclusive and compassionate community within Boulder.
