Join us to celebrate the kickoff of the new UNESCO Chair on Arts-based Methods for Peacebuilding with and for Children and Young People.
About this Event

The launch will take place on Thursday 28 May 2026 as part of , themed “Culture and arts education for lasting peace.”

This event brings together researchers, practitioners, educators, and policy partners to explore how arts-based approaches can foster dialogue, strengthen diversity, and contribute to peaceful and inclusive societies. It will provide a platform for sharing innovative practices and building connections across research, practice, and policy.

Overview: UNESCO Chair on Arts-based Methods for Peacebuilding with and for Children and Young People, Professor Ananda Breed: UNESCO Chair on Responsible Foresight for Sustainable Development, Professor Ted Fuller and Mrs Magdalena Read.

Discussion: Key priorities related to arts-based methods and culture for SDGs. UNESCO Representative in conversation with Youth Researcher from Mobile Arts for Peace (MAP) project

Demonstrations/Workshops (Attendees select to attend one of three Demonstrations/Workshops):

1) Arts-based Approaches for Mental Health and Wellbeing (in-person).

2) Peacebuilding Foresight with and for Children and Young People (in-person)

3) Culture and Arts Education through Mithala Arts in Nepal (online)
