Unearthing the Stories of Fry Pioneer Cemetery

For decades, the legacies of the Yaqui and Mexican pioneers who helped build Sierra Vista remained buried beneath the surface, their gravesites unmarked and hidden under overgrowth. Join Sierra Vista Historical Society President Elizabeth Wrozek to walk in the footsteps of those who migrated to Sierra Vista in the early 1900s as she uncovers the stories of their journeys and shares what life was like in our borderland community.
After the presentation, attendees are welcome to visit the Fry Pioneer Cemetery and learn more about the site and historic preservation and restoration efforts. Light refreshments will be provided.
