The Battle of Ridgefield which took place 248 years ago on April 27, 1777 was the only inland engagement that took place during the Revolutionary War in Connecticut. In 2021, with the support of a generous National Park Service (NPS) grant, the Ridgefield Historical Society enlisted Heritage Consultants to study the Battle of Ridgefield. Building on that research, a new NPS grant has been secured by the Ridgefield Historical Society to fund archaeological investigations and excavations throughout Ridgefield over the next two years. This exciting presentation will discuss the key findings of the first phase of research conducted, and the goals, objectives, and methods for the archaeological phase of the project – including how you can participate!

He currently works as an Archaeology Field Director for Heritage Consultants and is Historic New England’s Revolution 250 Research Scholar where he studies New England’s Indigenous and African American Revolutionary War veterans.
