Prior to digital imaging and post processing, film-based underwater photography presented a number of significant challenges including inability to change film rolls underwater and lack of instant feedback that prevented real-time optimization of camera settings. A technical overview of presenter Henry Zenzie's underwater digital imaging setup will be presented along with tips and tricks to achieve high-quality underwater images that require minimal post processing.
While Lightroom is the standard post-processing software for underwater images, OM Workspace is a free alternative for Olympus/OM camera owners. The capabilities of OM workspace will be described along with examples of pre- and post-processed underwater images.
Attendees will learn how to get started in SCUBA diving and underwater photography. Nearly every diver’s bucket list includes Raja Ampat, which is located in Eastern Indonesia at the heart of the Coral Triangle; it is a hot spot of marine biodiversity. Come and see images of the remarkable marine animals that inhabit this region!
