INSTRUCTOR: Prof. Amir Hussain
Dr. Amir Hussain is Professor of Theological Studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. Prof. Hussain served as Editor-in-Chief of The Oxford Encyclopedia of Islam in North America, and editor of three popular religious textbooks by Oxford University Press, as well as the Journal of the American Academy of Religion, widely considered the top academic journal in the field of religious studies. He was the first Muslim elected as President of the American Academy of Religion. Prof. Hussain lectures internationally and is called upon as a religious advisor for several television programs. Prof. Hussain has collaborated extensively on inter-religious initiatives with numerous rabbis and Jewish institutions around the world to analyze and illuminate sacred texts, traditions, and practices.
