SV[e]F's Annual NorCal Math Summit
About this Event
SV[e]F's Annual NorCal Math Summit & Math Institute Kickoff
When students can talk about math, they can think about math. On July 23, 2026, SV[e]F invites K-12 educators from across Silicon Valley to the Santa Clara County Office of Education for a full day of in-person learning built around one powerful idea: language is at the heart of mathematical understanding.
This year’s theme, Math is Spoken Here, centers on cutting-edge research and tools that empower educators to thoughtfully support students through Math Language Routines (MLRs) to better meet today’s learners' needs.
What to Expect:
- Research-Based Breakout Sessions led by higher education partners and math experts
- Hands-on Exploration of tools and strategies focused on Math Language Routines (MLRs)
- Vendor Showcase with local artisans in partnership with Miss CEO and Teacher Retirement Solutions
Attending the Summit automatically enrolls you in SV[e]F's Math Institute, a three-part virtual series running September through November 2026. Each session goes deeper into Math Language Routines (MLRs) -- the structured classroom strategies developed by Stanford's Graduate School of Education that help students talk, argue, and reason their way to mathematical understanding.
Don't miss this opportunity to be part of an exciting new chapter in math education! Register now for the Math Summit and secure your membership in the Math Institute, where you will engage with a dynamic community committed to excellence and equity in education!
