Under the Sea Sugar Cookie Decorating Class!

Introduction

Interested in learning more about decorated sugar cookies?! Horneytown Home Baked Goods, LCC is here to help! In this 1.5-hour class, we'll cover the basics to sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!), do some piping practice with Royal Icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you'll need is provided at class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile (and maybe an apron).

“Sand” by and relax as I prep the dough and icing for this 1.5 hour cookie decorating class! We’ll be spending some time with the fishes learning the basics.

You'll leave class with a great understanding of the basics of sugar cookies plus a few cool techniques we'll cover in class! More details on refunds, things to bring, credits, and FAQs are below - looking forward to having you with us.

About this Class

This class is for the beginner cookier or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or if you're trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you! We’ll be decorating a set of 6 sea creatures as we deep-dive into all things sugar cookies!

We provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - we just need YOU! Each to-be-baker gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just decorate!

This class is on Sunday, June 7th and starts at 2:00 sharp so we can have enough time to decorate and answer along the way. Come by yourself, bring your best friend, or bring the family - we have seating for up to 20 people! It's a blast whether you're coming with a friend, family member, or solo!

This class is good for ages *8 and up, but if you'd like to leave the kiddos at home, purchase an add-on kit (more on that below)! The kits are great for kids at home, plus - we'll send you the class PowerPoint so you can teach them yourself!

The class will be held at Village Family Chiropratic in Kernersville, NC located at 717 Graves St, Kernersville, NC 27284. Nervous about the parking situation? Don’t be! Parking is pretty easy - right beside the building! Look for the cookie flag.

Things to Bring

Wondering what you need to bring to have a successful time decorating? Well – nothing’s required – but here’s the things we recommend if you’d like to elevate your experience!

· Bring an apron! Things can get messy when you’re workin’ with royal icing – so grab an apron (bonus points if it’s cute – I’ll definitely be asking where you got it).

· Bring your glasses! There’s a reference slide deck to help you decorate, but if things get blurry far away, seeing glasses may be a great bet.

· Bring your phone! I love it when students take pictures throughout class – so bring a phone!

· Bring a good attitude! Cookies are fun, but they're also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference.

Cancelation / Refund / Sick Policy

You Don't Show Up or Email Prior To Class:

If I do not hear from you before your class’s start time, and you do not show up for class, I won’t be able to offer you a refund or a credit even if you're sick. So please reach out before class if you’re feeling sick!

DIY / Add-On Kits

Order your sugar cookie class kit and take the class home with you to teach a child or friend! These class kits come with everything you'll use in class, and I’ll email you the class PowerPoint so you can follow our step-by-step instructions from home! Cookie Class DIY Kits are created before your class, and you'll pick them up and take them with you after class.

How long can a kit last? Depending on how you store your icing, your kits can last for a week or longer. Freezing cookies keep them fresh for a long time, but I recommend using your kit as soon as possible - ideally in the first week after you've taken it home. Cookies are heat sealed for freshness – but again, use it in under a week to make sure it tastes the best

Heads up – these cookies include the following ingredients: flour, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, baking powder, salt, merginue powder, food coloring, and corn syrup.

Please note – these cookies are prepared in a kitchen that also bakes with common, known allergens: wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, milk.

Please consider your allergies before registering.

Class Cancelation Policy: Classes may be canceled at the discretion of me, the event host. This rarely happens – but in that extremely rare event that it does, you’ll receive a 100% refund.

Classes with attendance below 5 attendees will be canceled. Don’t be sad! You can either get a class credit for a future class (along with my apologies), or a full refund! I’ll let you know if your class has low attendance 7 days before the event is canceled so that you can bring a friend (hint hint) or find other plans for that day.
