Under The Rock - Paul McDonald & Jack Barksdale

Paul McDonald is a Nashville based 3X Grand Ole Opry Artist who tours nationally with “The Mourning Doves.” He is one of the most dynamic, interactive artists “Under” has ever seen play live. Influenced by southern rock icons, his music is a syntheses of rock, roots, country, gospel, and folk. Paul has appeared on TV including a major role on “Parenthood,” a deep run on “American Idol” and performances on Jay Leno, Good Morning America, and Regis and Kelly. With a leaning toward introspection & a Psychologist as a father. Paul was destined for “Under” The Rock.

Jack Barksdale has been performing professionally half his life, making him a veteran singer-songwriter at 17! Described as an “old soul,” he writes songs that connect with audiences while giving glimpses of his past and reflections on our future. Inspired by a range of legendary folk, rock, and blues legends, he has shared the stage with such icons as Wyonna Judd, Ray While Hubbard and Hayes Carll. This TX artist is on his way to stardom — but for now, lets enjoy him making a stopover on “Under."

Under The Rock is an innovative new series showcasing acoustic performances from top-level local artists. Facilitated by Dr. Aaron Rochlen, a Professor, Psychologist, & connected music guy, each concert features lyrical discussions and ideas for how audience member can learn, reflect, and relate from the listening experience. An award-winning presenter, “Doc Rock” frequently uses music in his courses & clinical work.
