Under One Atap: The Body

Do you crave a space to speak openly about matters of the mind, body, spirit, and the communities we belong to? That’s why we are hosting 'Under One Atap', a space for creatives and community members to convene.

At every gathering, we will discuss a topic close to our hearts (and sometimes our tummies), where we learn from the community to share and create together - bringing in artists, cooks, practitioners to stir the pot.

Ahoy! For our second session of Under One Atap, we’re going a little deeper into who we are and where we come from. And what better way to explore Singapore’s many bodies, identities, and histories than through food?

From hawker staples to home kitchens, our cuisines are shaped by movement, mixing, and memory, where hybrid flavours trace the journeys of the diverse communities that make up Singapore today.

Join us for a hearty conversation, shared plates, and stories that unfold through taste.

For “ The Body”, we are bringing home cooks and chefs to explore how heritage, identity, and belonging are expressed through the dishes we prepare, and the meals we share.

Hosted by Azfar Maswan, a culinary content creator and food history enthusiast. He currently heads the social media channel nOm (@nomies.co) where he produces and hosts content surrounding local food culture through human-interest stories and sharing recipes.
Commuity Potluck: Communal Conversations and Makan

What is "Under One Atap" ?

A spin-off of Atap Assembly, ‘Under One Atap’ is a series of youth-focused community events aimed at bringing lightness, warmth, and a space for us to dissect the noise together, navigating conversations that may otherwise never be surfaced.

With each gathering, we are creating a participatory experience - to centre arts, community, and culture. No matter if you are a salaryman or an oddball - we hope to break apart the walls between us, and to house everyone - under one roof.
