Uncovering Bias: A Journey to Awareness and Inclusion by Cinzia Musio

From awareness to action is a 2hour-long foundational workshop which was made using academic research and examples to illustrate how unconscious bias can affect our industry. This course offers actionable takeaways you can use to help make the games industry a better place!

​We all have unconscious bias—it's hardwired in each of us! When these biases or associations become part of the important decisions we make about the people we work with, it negatively impacts us all. It prevents us from doing our best work. Raising awareness, understanding the impact and taking action is crucial as we strive to create an equitable, diverse and inclusive industry.

​Bio: Cinzia Musio is an award-winning Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Consultant in the UK, with an approach focusing on intersectionality, and Co-CEO at Code Coven. They work across the industry to help build awareness and education and using data to drive a culture of inclusion, knowledge sharing, and allyship. Cinzia is a Training Consultant and Researcher for Limit Break, a BAFTA member, and helps manage a UK Games Industry Slack community of over 7000 people. When not at work, Cinzia can be found doing various crafts or cuddling cats.
