Meet the musicians who will conjure the magic for you:
Hailing from a musical family, Olly Lyon blends classical influences with heartfelt songwriting. His music explores love, loss, addiction, recovery, and fatherhood. He is currently recording his debut album with British producer Robin Axford, building on the creative partnership they formed while making his EP in Moscow.
Pip Alblas (1996) is a Singer-Songwriter. She started singing way before she spoke her first words and started teaching herself to play the guitar as a teenager. This combination drove her to start writing songs and since she wrote her first song at 12-years-old she hasn’t stopped. Inspired by artists like Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Jason Mraz she writes songs about love, life and everything in between. After competing in The Voice of Holland in 2014 she has been making music her full-time gig. At this point in time she travels all throughout the country to liven up weddings, events and festivals with her music.
Marcel Heijnen is known for his warm vocals and reflective songwriting. Blending folk, pop, and acoustic influences, the Dutch singer-songwriter creates intimate songs that connect through his unique perspectives of the world. Following the release of his albums Residue (2010) and Forever for Now (2021), Marcel is preparing for an EP release at The Godown in October this year.
Dutch singer, performer, and theatre kid at heart, Liesbeth Visee (she/her) always had a passion for music, theatre and storytelling. She can mainly be seen performing somewhere in the musical theatre scene in Amsterdam. Recent productions include An Evening of Jacques Brel (Our Way Productions), Avenue Q (Happily Ever After), La Cage Aux Folles (QETC), Song by Song by Sondheim (QETC) and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (The Cauldron). When she’s not randomly bursting into song, Liesbeth spends her time working as an art historian.
Hi, Handsome are a NZ/Irish-born, Amsterdam-based duo made up of Jesse Finn and Daragh Gillen. Their music sits somewhere between indie-pop, folk, and alt-country, with close harmonies, rough edges, and songs that blur confession with daydream.Influenced by artists like Fleetwood Mac, Alexi Murdoch, Kacey Musgraves, and Johnny Cash, Hi, Handsome blend storytelling with atmosphere, writing about queerness, mental health, desire, shame, and all the complicated stuff in between. You can catch their EP launch 'Southern Skies' at Droog, Amsterdam on 19 September - until then, stream their single 'Blood Burn'.
