Ladies and gents, this is the one you've been waiting for... Uncaged is back with our monthly shenanigans, and all the fun and excitement that comes from a mix of alcohol and words. We've had people travel from Hull, Chesterfield, Nottingham Leicester, Stamford, Newark, Market Rasen, Sleaford, Grantham, Boston, and beyond to take part. So come and see what all the excitement is about.
Ron Booth comperes the evening with verve and gusto, signing people up for a slot from 7pm ready to kick off at 8pm. If you read poetry, short stories (5 to 8 minutes) have a stand up comedy set, come and book yourself a slot.
Special Guest: Andie
Born and bred in Hull, Andie started writing poetry 8 years ago but, growing up painfully shy, she had no inclination to share publicly.
Until 3 years ago…she attended her first spoken word event and unleashed the unabashed performer within!
Now she performs wherever she gets the chance – “I’d attend the opening of an envelope if it meant I could read my poems!” she says.
Her work is mainly autobiographical- strange encounters, childhood memories, life changing events; sometimes poignant, often humorous, occasionally a little bit weird!
She also hosts a monthly spoken word afternoon, Wotlarx Open Mic, in her home city of Hull.
Can't wait to see you all again (and new faces too) for our next regular monthly event of the year, at The Birdcage, Lincoln. Sign up 7.00-8.00 and then let's be
OUTSPOKEN!
