Una razón plural ante los imperios cognitivos: los legados de la filosofía

El Instituto Cervantes de Mánchester presenta la mesa redonda "Una razón plural ante los imperios cognitivos: Los legados de la filosofía iberoamericana " con los investigadores Antolín Sánchez Cuervo y Axel Pérez Trujillo.

La presente mesa gira en torno al importante diálogo entre la filosofía iberoamericana y los estudios poscoloniales. Los ponentes presentarán las líneas reflexión del Proyecto de Investigación Pluriber financiado por el Ministerio de Ciencia Innovación y Universidades. El título enmarca la cuestión central sobre la que versará la mesa redonda—cómo la rúbrica de una razón plural una razón que responde a lo que Enrique Dussel denomina una “pluriversalidad a definir” nos puede ayudar a repensar los imperialismos y colonialismos en el siglo XXI.

Ponentes:

Dr. Antolín Sánchez Cuervo: Investigador Científico del Instituto de Filosofía del Centro de Ciencias Humanas y Sociales del CSIC. Doctor por la Universidad Pontificia Comillas es autor de más de 200 publicaciones sobre filosofía iberoamericana. Es además Presidente de la Asociación de Hispanismo Filosófico y Mercator Fellow de la Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.

Dr. Axel Pérez Trujillo: Profesor Asociado de Durham University donde ejerce su labor docente e investigadora desde 2018. Doctor por la University of Alberta Canadá es autor del libro Imagining the Plains of Latin America (Bloomsbury 2021) habiéndose dedicado a aunar la reflexión filosófica a los estudios culturales latinoamericanos. Su actual línea de investigación junta la ecocrítica con la filosofía iberoamericana.

The Instituto Cervantes in Manchester presents the roundtable "A Plural Reason Against Cognitive Empires: The Legacies of Iberian American Philosophy" with researchers Antolín Sánchez Cuervo and Axel Pérez Trujillo.

The roundtable engages with the potential dialogue between the contributions of an Iberian American philosophy and Postcolonial Studies. Both presenters will discuss the strands of inquiry linked to the Pluriber Research Project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science Innovation and Universities. Crucial to the discussion will be how a plural reason one that responds to what philosopher Enrique Dussel argues is a “pluriversality yet to be defined” may help us rethink the imperialisms and colonialisms of the 21st Century.

Participants:

Dr. Antolín Sánchez Cuervo: Senior Researcher at the Institute of Philosophy at the Centre for Human and Social Sciences of the CSIC. He obtained his PhD at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas and is the author of more than 200 publications on Iberian-American philosophy. He is also President of the Hispanic Philosophy Association (AHF) and Mercator Fellow of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.

Dr. Axel Pérez Trujillo: Associate Professor at Durham University a post he has held since 2018. He obtained his PhD from the University of Alberta and is the author of the book Imagining the Plains of Latin America (Bloomsbury 2021) having dedicated his research to embedding philosophical analysis in the study of Latin American culture. His current research engages with ecocriticism and Iberian-American philosophy.
