It’s a chance to connect, learn, and be part of real change. Don’t miss out on being part of this amazing movement!
This official NGO CSW70 Parallel Event This event explores how gender-based violence can be transformed into empowerment through reforms in Europe and recommendations from UN Women—in order to create sustainable systems that will change statistics on domestic violence and sexual crime in the future.
The Forum will present: 1. Criminal legal cases in which women committed homicide to escape aggravated domestic violence, and how these cases have inspired reforms on coercive control in Europe. 2. A case study on the rape kit in the USA and how this tool has changed the burden of proof in rape cases within the American legal system. 3. A speak-out workshop will be organized to allow the public to express themselves (anonymously on paper or publicly) about their own experiences of gender-based violence. This is a powerful moment where everyone is invited to speak.
This event will be filmed by a professional New York production team. The result will be published on the UN website and the NGO Consent.
Featured Speakers
Dr. Eva Kroczynski, 15 years of experience in women's health, Research Associate at NYU, Founder of the NGO Consent in NY.
