** Late Season Umpire Training Opportunity!!!!
Due to the interest in having a late-season umpire training session, the Cole Harbour Comets have organized training through Pat Hazelton, our Umpire-in-Chief for the region.
🥎 New & Level 1 Umpire Training
📅 Monday, August 3rd
⏰ 6:00–8:00 p.m.
📍 Robert Drive Field, 60 Robert Drive, Dartmouth
The field is located behind the Akerley NSCC campus in Dartmouth, off Main Street.
This training is open to anyone interested in becoming an umpire and you can take the training starting at 13 years old.
We have had some parents express interest in registering alongside their daughters. This can be a great way to help a young umpire build confidence—Mom or Dad can work the bases while their daughter works behind the plate. Plus, if you're already going to be driving your umpire to and from the field and waiting for them during the game, you might as well get paid too! 😉
💰 Umpire Game Rates
Senior, Intermediate, Masters, Orthodox, Recreational, U17 and up
• Plate: $50
• Base: $40
U15 and U13
• Plate: $45
• Base: $35
U11
• Plate: $40
• Base: $30
We would love to see more parents and players take advantage of this opportunity. We are currently struggling with low umpire numbers, and unfortunately, this often means that our younger divisions are not receiving umpires for their games. Building our umpire pool is important to ensuring our players can continue to have properly officiated games.
