About this Event
May 4, 2024, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Join the Esopus Community Foundation and Riverkeeper for a cleanup and maintenance project at Perrine Bridge Park on Saturday, May 4, for the 13th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep.
Volunteers will meet at the parking lot on south side of Route 213, at the junction of Route 32S & 213, Rifton NY 12471.
We ask all Sweep volunteers to also bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, work gloves and hand sanitizer. If you have them, please also bring hand tools, such as clippers and shovels.
This site is not suitable for elementary-aged children.
*IMPORTANT! To ensure the safety of volunteers, Sweep Site Leaders, park staff, and our communities, we ask that volunteers adhere to the following guidelines:
- Volunteers are required to pre-register for Sweep, and bring their own gloves, hand sanitizer, and water.
- Volunteers should not participate if they have ANY signs of illness or if they have potentially been exposed to COVID-19 within the previous two weeks.
Over the last 12 years, Sweep leaders have completed 1,199 service projects, bringing together thousands of volunteers from NYC to the Adirondacks to clean up 355 tons of debris, and plant or maintain 7,130 native plants. This incredible effort is made possible by the generosity of our members, sponsors, and supporters. If you would like to support the continued growth of the Riverkeeper Sweep, please consider making a donation. Contributions of any amount are meaningful.
