“Essentially My Life Is A Disaster” is Ukulele Death Squad’s latest musical offering, recorded and mixed at Rolling Stock Studios over 2025. Featuring some of this award winning band's newest compositions as well signature festival favourites, these recordings showcase a stylistic and instrumental breadth from their newest band members, taking you through Australiana disco, to grungy blues, latin surf-rock and back to The Squad’s signature balkan inspired ukulele brass and vocal mania.

Drawing from Iranian folk traditions and the sounds of 1960s and ’70s Tehran, Ashkan Shafiei blends nostalgia with experimentation. Raised on smuggled pre-revolution cassette tapes and later shaped by Western influences, his groovy sound—driven by hypnotic rubab melodies and inventive rhythms—leads audiences into a trance-like experience.
Shanty Club has been bringing friends and strangers together to sing in Sydney bars for over a decade. With an infectious energy and a wide repertoire of shanties, work songs, and folk music, they create an atmosphere where everyone can join in, no matter their singing ability!
