Ilya Ponomarev is a technology investor and political entrepreneur with deep expertise in defense innovation and emerging technologies. Formerly a member of the Russian Duma, he chaired its Innovation and Venture Capital Subcommittee, helping shape early-stage investment policy. Since relocating to Ukraine, Ponomarev has been directly involved in advancing the country’s defense ecosystem—supporting drone technology development, dual-use innovation, and pathways for scaling battlefield ingenuity into global markets. His unique blend of venture experience and hands-on involvement in Ukraine’s tech-driven defense initiatives makes him a leading voice on the intersection of investment, innovation, and security.
Rear Admiral (Ret.) Michael W. Hewitt is a former U.S. Navy officer and current CEO of IronNet, a leader in AI-driven collective cybersecurity. Over a 31-year career, he held senior roles in aviation, acquisition, legislative affairs, joint warfare, and cyber and information operations. After retiring in 2014, he founded HSH Analytics, specializing in special-access operations, future warfighting, and emerging defense technologies. He also co-founded IP3 Corporation, an international energy and security firm advancing peaceful nuclear power through U.S. partnerships. In January 2025, Hewitt became CEO of IronNet, extending his expertise into the cyber domain. His career reflects a rare blend of military leadership, energy security, and cutting-edge innovation at the nexus of defense and technology.
