About this Event
We are lucky enough to have 4 of our favourite UK winemakers join us as part of our Spring Fayre weekend festivities. A unique opportunity to get to know the growers behind some very special wines!
Wine Fair Tokens are available to pre-book or buy from the bar on the day, however pre-booking is advised to secure your place. Your £15 ticket will grant you 5 tokens. You will then be able to exchange each token for a sample of wine and chat with the winemakers. You can drop in any time between 12 & 3 (last pours at 2:45)
SOPHIE EVANS, KENT
Sophie farms a few small parcels of vines in Kent, with a focus on herbal tinctures, oils and teas made with plants grown around her winery for keeping the vines healthy, along with some biodynamic practices. She does everything by hand, with the help of an old tractor when it decides to work.
MATT GREGORY, LEICESTERSHIRE
Matt's journey in wine began as a merchant, then trying his hand at making wine in New Zealand before developing his own winemaking project in Piedmont. Now that he's on home turf, his philosophy is simple: farming first.
Look after the fruit, treat it gently in the winery, and let the wines speak for themselves.
TITCH HILL, WEST SUSSEX
Titch Hill is the project of Alex Tristram and Sam Bunker, who met while studying winemaking at Plumpton in 2017. The vines are planted on a farm that has been in Alex's family for generations, with his uncle taking a keen interest in environmental restoration in the early 1980s, repairing the damage done across the UK by post-war industrial farming.
PARIS BARGHCHI, SOMERSET
Working nomadically, Paris' debut wine was made with fruit from Matt Gregory’s organically farmed vineyard in Leicestershire. Pinot Noir was picked in the very challenging 2024 vintage - some of the lowest recorded sunlight hours in a century, pressure from mildew, and vines already showing low reserves following an equally tricky 2023. Rigorous sorting in vineyard and winery was key, with fruit harvested late in October.
