About this Event

The (CEP) at the University of Strathclyde is celebrating its 10th Anniversary. Focused on achieving real-world impacts, the Centre has spent the last decade shaping UK and Scottish net zero policy in areas including energy efficiency, industrial decarbonisation, heat decarbonisation and low carbon transport.

The Centre's series of 10th Anniversary events continues with an insightful guest lecture by , the UK Government's Head of Mission Control for Clean Power 2030.

The Clean Power 2030 Mission aims to turbocharge the transition away from volatile fossil fuel markets to gain energy independence and lower bills for British consumers.

Join us at the University of Strathclyde for a dynamic afternoon dedicated to celebrating CEP's 10th Anniversary and discussing how Britain can achieve its Clean Power Mission.

This in-person event will include an opportunity after the lecture to network and discuss further. Refreshments will be provided.

About the Centre for Energy Policy

The Centre for Energy Policy (CEP) at the University of Strathclyde has emerged as a pivotal player in shaping energy policy and research.

The story of the Centre for Energy Policy began in 2014 with a vision to create a research hub that would provide evidence-based insights into energy policy. CEP Director and founder, Professor Karen Turner, established the Centre’s mission for robust research that could inform decision-making in a rapidly changing energy landscape.

By examining the economic implications and societal impacts of different energy governmental strategies, the Centre fosters a nuanced understanding of how these approaches can tackle the energy transition and achieve net zero by 2050.

As the Centre for Energy Policy prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary, a series of events - plus the launch of a new podcast, Energy Conversations - are planned to honour this significant milestone.
