Kingsgate exposes a 40m high section of Santonian to Campanian white chalk in eroded cliffs. It is unusually thin, pure and soft, only buried to ~500m over the Thanet Anticline. It is fossiliferous, structured and strongly jointed with an Ice Age dry valley overprint. Please come prepared for walking over the slippery intertidal chalk reef.
