You asked for a monthly event, and you're getting one! 🥳Ujamaa at Umoja is your new monthly event to access and learn about all the things you need to start your dream business!
Ujamaa is the Swahili word for "Cooperative Economics" & Umoja is the Swahili word for "Unity."
Ujamaa at Umoja is therefore a non-traditional approach to pitchfests. This isn't about competition; it's about community.
You can expect:
- 1x celebratory presentation for Umoja CoWorking & Incubator
- 3x entrepreneur presentations (pitches) of their businesses
- 3x community judges, ready to give feedback to each pitch
- 2x networking opportunities—before and after
- FREE food & drinks provided by local BIPOC businesses.
- FREE on-site activities for the kids.
- FREE to attend both in-person AND ON ZOOM!
Our 2 Goals are:
1. To be your BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and disabled Business starting point—a road map to entrepreneurship. We'll help you determine which direction to go in for your business and who you may seek out for different types of support.
2. To uplift and support minority-owned businesses by allowing them to present to our diverse community of business owners, coaches, professionals, and investors.
