In the 1960s, a charismatic Irish priest gathered boys from Tucson barrios and turned them into the first youth mariachi band north of the border. Within a few years, they delight audiences across North America, while they, in turn, are dazzled by the glamour of planes and hotels, applause and accolades. But the priest has a dark side, experienced by the boys but kept secret. Only decades later can they fully process the spectacular achievement and its costs.
