UGA Vet School Class of 1971 - 55 Year Reunion
Hey Bulldogs! It's time to catch up and celebrate 55 years since we graduated from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine. Join us for a fun in-person reunion filled with laughs, memories, and good company. Don’t miss this chance to reconnect with old friends and relive those golden moments together. Can’t wait to see all of you there!
The event will take place at the beautiful JW Marriott luxury hotel. (https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/savjw-jw-marriott-savannah-plant-riverside-district/overview/) We will get together for cocktails Friday evening (see below) and classmates can partitipate in small group dinners at any of the 12 hotel restaurants or other restaurants in the area. We're looking into scheduling a group event (boat tour of the harbor) for Saturday afternoon. (More information on that soon.) The main event will be Saturday evening with a group dinner at the hotel's Riverwalk II starting at 5:00. After dinner we move to the rooftop bar to a private space reserved for us.
We have a room block reserved for Friday and Saturday nights with a great price and waived Destination Fee. (Thank you Sonny for helping us get this wonderful room rate!) You will also be able to book additional room nights at this discounted fee.
You will need to make two advanced bookings. One will be directly with the hotel for your room. If you call, you must tell them you are booking at the JW Marriott in Savannah and you're part of the "UGA Vet School Class of 1971 - Reunion" to get the discounted rate. If you are planning on adding extra nights to your reservation, book the two nights on line and then call the above number with yor reservation number to add the additional nights.
The other booking you need to make will be to register for the Saturday night dinner and get together. You do that on this website by clicking the red "Get Tickets" button, and be sure to get two if you're bringing your spouse, partner, or guest.
We are looking at doing a riverboat 90 minute sightseeing cruise Saturday afternoon, and we'll send more information about that soon. We will contact all who have registered and ask how many wish to do the riverboat cruise in a few weeks before we order tickets for that.
NOTE WELL: The room block closes at midnight, Tuesday, 21 July. That's just a little more than a week away. You may still be able to get a room after that, but you will have to pay the going rate after the room block closes. So if you're planning on coming, it would be a good idea to book now. (You can always cancel for no charge by following the hotel's cancellation policy.)

Friday Sundowners
Info: We will meet starting at 5:00 PM at one of the hotel bars (to be determined) and enjoy each other's company for as long as you like. Dinner will be on your own, and you may wish to group up with several classmates for dinner. Hint: You may want to make a reservation at one of the restaurants at the hotel or in the area. There are many great Savannah restaurants, but it's advisable to have a reservation for a Friday evening in August. Connect with classmates beforehand for dinner parties. If you make a reservation for 4 or 6, you can easily lower the number. But it may be difficult to add people to an existing reservation, so plan ahead.

Sunday 90 Minute Riverboat Cruise
Info: If there is enough interest, we will book seats for a 90 minute Riverboat Cruise at 1:00 PM Saturday. (We'll email you to see if you're interested after you register for your hotel room.) The boat dock is just down river from the hotel. Stay tuned.

Info: We'll start with a cash bar, followed by a plated dinner. After dinner we move to a private section at the roof top bar for further visiting. We may attempt a Zoom call to include classmates who are unable to attend providing we have internet available.
