This course is designed to teach participants food safety for commercial use, in preparation for the national certification exam.
About this Event

If you are in charge of a restaurant, organizing events, running your own food business, or preparing and serving food to your community, this course is for you.

The Food Protection Manager certification is more widely recognized than any other food safety certification by federal, state, and local authorities, and the UDC ServSafe 3-Day course series provides you with the knowledge and confidence needed to handle food safely, protect the people you serve, and remain compliant with public health regulations.

You'll Learn How to:

  • Protect public health and safety in any food service setting
  • Understand current food safety policies and procedures
  • Implement effective food handling and employee training practices
  • Keep your operation or kitchen in compliance with applicable regulations

This course is ideal for food service managers, caterers, small business owners, community volunteers, and senior caregivers who prepare or serve food in any capacity.

Food Protection Manager certifications must be renewed every five (5) years.

Fee covers direct instruction, the ServSafe book, and the proctored examination.

Payment Options:

  • Pay online via the UDC-CAUSES Payment Portal

A special authorization code from the course facilitator, Dr. Carlton Crockett will be needed to submit the payment.

  • At the Cashier’s Office in advance: Building 39, 2nd floor, Room 201, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please take the payment form with you. Add the Course Name and Detail Code: P069 to the form.

Payments must be received on or by the first day of the training.

3 Day Course Series: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Instruction is in-person at the UDC Community College/Lamond-Riggs campus.

Class Meetings:

Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Credential Earned: National certification will be awarded upon scoring 70% or higher on the certification examination.
