About this Event
As part of UDC CAUSES Culinary Arts Summer Camp, DC area youth interested in cooking, culinary arts, and delicious food will learn culinary arts skills while creating unique dishes from several different cultural cuisines. Chef Herbert Holden of CAUSES’ Center for Diet, Nutrition, and Health will teach campers techniques needed to follow recipes, prep food, use kitchen equipment safely and hygienically, and cook their favorite dishes. Campers will also learn about health and food nutrition along the way!
All campers must have a parent/guardian sign the waiver form. You will receive the waiver after completing your registration.
Important Registration Information
Registration is on a first come first serve basis, with a maximum capacity of 15 participants.
Participants must be 11-16 years of age and residents of the District of Columbia.
Participants must obtain transportation to and from the UDC Van Ness campus each day.
Registration closes on July 18th, 2025

All participants are required to submit a signed photo waiver. Please submit an electronic version (preferred) or bring the signed copy with you on the first day of camp.
Camp will be held at the UDC Van Ness Campus, located at 4200 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, D.C. 20008, in Building 44, Room 110.
After you register, you will receive an email with next steps. Your child's registration is not complete until you have filled out all registration forms and received confirmation from Miranda Desmarais via email.
