About this Event
Memory Patterns is a mixed-media exhibition by Ukrainian artist Anna Seniuk, combining traditional papercutting (vytynanka) with photography to explore how memory alters and fragments our perception of the past.
Papercuts slice through photographs, leaving ruptures and absences—visual traces of how memories remain yet shift over time. These works resist clarity, inviting viewers to reflect on their own inner landscapes, emotions, and recollections.
By merging a folk technique rooted in symbolism with contemporary visual tools, Memory Patterns destabilizes expectations of heritage and form. The result is a series that resonates with those navigating uncertainty, hybridity, and the fragility of remembering—both personal and collective.
The exhibition opens with a special reception featuring remarks from the artist, offering audiences a chance to engage directly with Seniuk’s process and vision.
This ticket purchase is for the opening reception on Wednesday, October 15th.
This reception will occur before that evening's performance of Lesia Ukrainka's Cassandra at 7pm (requires a separate ticket purchase.)
Daily viewing from 3-6pm on October 14-18 is free / open to the public.
