The Branigan Cultural Center, and Visitor Experience Team, will host a "Ubi Sunt Poetry Workshop," on Friday, August 7, from 5pm to 7pm. The workshop is limited to 25 people, ages 18+, and will take place at the Branigan Cultural Center, registration IS REQUIRED.
Ubi sunt is a Latin phrase meaning "where are..." which is often used as the first line in the poetic style of the same name. This form of poetry is focused on the change and transitory nature of life and can often be used to express longing for someone or something of the past.
Join us for a workshop that highlights the photography of Craig Varjabedian in our exhibit “Into the Great White Sands."
Retired teacher and author, Rosilyn Skibyak, will assist you in composing your own ubi sunt poetry. They will provide guidance to participants while allowing the participants to make personal expressions about the artwork and nature in general.
To register for this, go to the website: lascruces.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/ubi-sunt-poetry-workshop/ or email Emilia Linley, Museum Manager (Visitor Experience), at [email protected]. We look forward to having you there!
