Please join the U-M Club of Greater Detroit at the Bayview Yacht Club as we host our Summer BBQ along the Detroit River. Enjoy a strolling BBQ lunch, spectacular views of the water and witness the finals of the Detroit Cup! We encourage everyone to take advantage and enjoy a day at this historic, private sailing club with your fellow Wolverines.
Detroit Cup Finals: The BYC is hosting the 4th leg of the 2025 Grand Slam Series - US Grade 2 Series. The grand slam travels between 4 different locations throughout the month of August and finishes in Detroit! Competitors are ranked on the IASF World Rankings and are vying for a spot at the Congressional Cup. https://www.detroitcup.com/ for additional information.
The club has reserved the Mackinac Room with outdoor patio for our members to mingle and take in the views. This will give easy access to walk out onto the lawn and enjoy a front row seat of the racing! The races will have an announcer keeping everyone up to date on what is going on throughout the day. Awards are planned for around 3pm. Sail racing is weather/temperature dependent so times may vary slightly.
Your registration fee includes a 2-hour strolling lunch, a front row seat to the Detroit Cup Finals and supports the clubs various scholarships.
Cash bar is available.

Dress code: Come as you are / “Boat Shoe Casual”!
Parking: The club is at the end of a canal. This event has 75+ attend along with BYC members enjoying their club. There is plenty of parking but it backs up away from the club along the canal. The entrance gate will be opened to the public at the start of the event.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO COME CHECK IN WHEN YOU ARRIVE! This is a private club and there will be BYC members enjoying their club. There will be signage to guide you to our area. Name tags(provided) are especially important for this event.
The 2-hour strolling lunch is planned for 12-2pm
Make sure to sign up EARLY! This event sells out fast, and we always have a large waitlist! Registration ends 8/20.
