This year, we are honored to celebrate the divine compositions of Saint Tyāgarāja with soulful Carnatic music renditions and vibrant Bharatanatyam performances. Let’s come together to pay tribute to one of the greatest composers of South India, whose music has inspired generations!

*Dr. Madhu Veettikazhy*
Dr. Madhu Veettikazhy, a Carnatic musician from Kerala, India, has been based in Copenhagen since 2018. With over 24 years of experience in Carnatic music and 13 years in music education across India and Denmark, he trained under Vidwan Rameshan Punnayoorkkulam, Vidushi Nanda Krishnakumar, and several other esteemed gurus. He also studied Carnatic flute under Dr. Padmesh Parasuraman, a disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr. N. Ramani, and is currently learning under Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr. R. Suryaprakash.
Madhu has participated in Carnatic music workshops across Kerala, integrating numerical techniques in music education. He has served as a Swarapoorna music examiner for Bharath Sevak Samaj and has judged various music competitions.
With a background in optical engineering and biomedical research, he works on developing endoscopic technology for early cancer screening. Alongside his scientific career, he continues to teach Carnatic vocal music in Copenhagen, nurturing students of all ages in this rich classical tradition.
*Shreyas Raghavan *
Shreyas Raghavan has been learning Mrudangam from Vidwan Shri Arjun Kumar for the past 10 years. Under his tutelage, he has cleared the Karnataka State Junior Music Exam and has participated in several music competitions in India. Currently, he is pursuing his Masters at Chalmers University of Technology.
*Chandrashekar C.R. *
Chandrashekar C.R completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology at Ramaiah Institute of Technology and is currently pursuing his Master’s in Bioinformatics at Lund University, Sweden.
He successfully completed his junior exam in Carnatic Classical music on the violin. He began his musical training under Vidushi Shrimati Vijayalakshmi, later learning from Vidushi Shrimati Anuthama Murli. He is currently a disciple of Vidwan Shri H.K. Venkatram, continuing to refine his artistry in Carnatic Classical music.
*Vijaytha Vijay*
A professional Indian classical dancer, trained in three dance forms (Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchippudi) of Southern India, specializing in Bharatanatyam. She had been learning dance under the guidance of Smt. Thakazhi Omana and Anitha Janaki since she was four years old. She continued her advanced training in all three dance forms under eminent guru Smt. Girija Chandran (Regatta Natya Sangeetha Kendram, Trivandrum, Kerala).
She won the first prize in Bharatanatyam at the Kerala State School Youth Festival for two consecutive years (2002 and 2003) and has earned numerous prestigious accolades, including the coveted "Kalathilakam" title at the District School Youth Festival for an outstanding nine consecutive years.
With a deep passion for both dance and education, she pursued formal training in Bharatanatyam, completing a Diploma from Kalai Kaveri College of Fine Arts under Bharathidasan University, all while earning her Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
Her academic prowess continued to shine as she went on to complete a Master's in Computer Engineering and Network Technology, securing first rank at MG University in Kottayam, Kerala.
She also has Master's in Fine Arts specializing in Bharatanatyam at Sastra University, Thanjavur, under Dr. Padma Subramaniam . She moved to Denmark in 2019 and started teaching Bharatanatyam under Nrityapada school of dance and has performed on stages across India and Denmark, both solo and in collaboration with renowned artists.
*Nikhil Raveendran Pothanchery*
Nikhil Raveendran is a bharathanatyam dancer , practitioner and teacher trained under Smt. Kalamandalam Saraswathy , Sri.Srikanth and Smt. Aswathy Srikanth. He is a recipient of senior scholarship in Bharathanatyam, Ministry of Culture , Government of India and also Doordarshan graded artist. He has performed in various stages inside India and also places like Tanzania , Srilanka , Re-Union Island , Paris , and Germany to name few. Currently he is a Master's student in Dance Movement Therapy, SRH UNIVERSITY, HEIDELBERG, GERMANY.
