Join us for an evening of music with Tyler Somers of Jenny & Tyler, alongside cellist Ben Ko, with special guest Audrey Adams. Tyler is planning a set mixed both with Jenny & Tyler staples and new songs from Jenny & Tyler's new record, Peace Be Yours.
With the senior superlative “Most Likely to Become Jack Johnson” under his belt and the influence of his dad’s jazz and mom’s love for Simon & Garfunkel, Tyler Somers has been playing music for over 20 years, most recently in the duo Jenny & Tyler with his wife, you guessed it, Jenny. While the folk-pop duo takes a break from the road, Tyler is pursuing this solo project. He’s bringing his rhythmic guitar and powerful vocals to living rooms and churches. His faith invades every part of his life, notably his songwriting. Drawing from musical influences such as Coldplay and Mumford & Sons (and of course, Jack), Tyler writes songs of hope within grief, light amid darkness, and love above all.
"I want this music to resound with echoes of invitation," Tyler says. "Firstly to Jesus, also to each other and even our own hearts. I love playing live because no two shows are ever the same. I look forward to seeing how these songs resonate with audiences and what Jesus does with the evening."
Audrey Adams is a singer-songwriter, musician, and recording artist based in Greenwood, SC and Nashville, TN. After learning to play her favorite Beatles tunes by ear at a young age, Audrey has been making music ever since, whether that’s writing her own songs, composing a full-length original musical, or gigging around the upstate every weekend. This past year, Audrey released her first single, “I Wonder Why,” which she debuted at the Bluebird Cafe. She interned as a studio technician in Nashville last summer and was recently added to the NSAI Top 40 Playlist for her song “My Defense,” co-written with fellow songwriter Jonathan Bell. Influenced by songwriters like Paul McCartney, Carole King, and Bob Dylan, she has a passion for creating music that resonates with a crowd and wants to spend her life sharing it with others...cause music just makes life better!
