About this Event
On Friday, April 17, from 9am-10:30am please join us to meet your local TWS staff, experience the diverse species of birds as they make their spring migration through the refuge, and learn how your support plays a significant role in protecting critical wildlife habitats for generations to come.
Located just north of Las Vegas, the Desert National Wildlife Refuge protects a wide variety of ecosystems across a diverse landscape, protecting hundreds of different species of plants and animals. At 1.6 million acres, it is the largest wildlife refuge outside of Alaska.
The refuge is located in the traditional homeland of Newe (Western Shoshone) and Nuwu/Nuwuvi (Southern Paiute/Chemehuevi) Tribes, and as part of the ancestral lands of the Southern Paiute people, the refuge contains sacred sites, artifacts, and petroglyphs that carry the history of the Paiute nations and remain integral to their cultural and spiritual practices today.
The event and easily accessible parking are free of charge. Space is limited so reserve your spot today! We look forward to seeing you!
