Don't miss this workshop with Forever Country Dancing straight from Dallas, Texas! Open for all levels, no partner needed. In this workshop, we will lay the groundwork with proper Two-Step rhythm, movement, and connection, introduce dynamic direction changes and refined partner control, and finally combine your skills into a polished pattern with stylish impact and a crowd-pleasing dips!
3 - 4:15pm Foundation & Flow Session 1
- Timing: Quick-quick-slow-slow — feel it, count it, dance it
- Frame & Connection: Posture, pressure, and partner responsiveness
- Progressive Basics: Straight-line travel, promenade position, inside/outside turns
- Footwork Fundamentals: Smooth steps, matching energy, staying in lane
- Slotting & Travel: Learning efficient, clean directional movement
4:15 - 5:30 pm Techniques & Turns Session 2
- Turning Technique: Lead/follow cues, spotting, and balance
- Follower Variations: Free spins, shaping, styling options
- Leader Clarity: Setup, timing, and momentum management
- Checks: Sharp redirections that add texture to your dance
- Whips: 6- and 8-count patterns, with anchored rotation and foot placement
5:30 - 7 pm Style, Social Patterns, & Dips Session 3
- Signature Social Pattern: A go-to combo that blends turns, a check or whip, and a moment of flair
- Transitions: Smooth entrances/exits between basic and styled movement
- Styling Elements: Lines, arm flourishes, and musical accents
- Dips: Safety, timing, weight transfers, and assisted variations
- Social Practice: Partner rotations + instructor coaching to lock it in
