About this Event
Beginner-friendly watercolour workshop inspired by the iconic Two Lads Cairns ahead of their restoration this summer. The workshop will explore Two Lads at multiple viewpoints and include a medium length hike from Walker Fold Car Park up Winter Hill.
Please note this session is only suitable for those who can walk a distance on uneven ground. Attendees must come dressed in appropriate clothing and footwear.

What to know before the walk:
- This walk is approx. 3.6 miles / 5.8 km with 475 ft / 155m elevation and includes some uneven ground. The walk length may be dependent on weather conditions.
- We will bring picnic blankets. If you would prefer to sit on a seat, feel free to bring along a camping chair or stool, but you will need to carry it with you whilst we walk.
- We ask all attendees to bring water and come prepared for cold and potentially wet weather. This walk will be cancelled if there is severe weather, please check your emails on the day before the walk.
- The watercolour session will be beginner friendly. Attendees must be over 16, and those aged 16-18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Due to the nature of the workshop, we would ask that people do not bring dogs, except assistance dogs.
- Walker Fold can have poor phone signal, please plan your route ahead of time.
- All materials for the session will be provided.

About Aysha Yilmaz
Aysha classes herself as a Multidisciplinary Artist/ Creative Practitioner as her practice consists of Painting, Textiles and Mixed Media. She teaches Arts and Crafts to different groups (Age Friendly, Women's Groups, Children, and Families). The workshops she teaches are mainly textile-based such as Silk painting, Felting and Mixed Media. Her work is mainly nature-inspired. She has taught in many Primary schools as an Artist in Schools. She currently teaches regularly at the Whitworth Art Gallery on their Handmade programme and is a regular artist for UnityArts Manchester. She is on the Whitworth Art Gallery’s Advisory Group.
