Skill Level: This class is beginner friendly, though some wheel throwing experience is reccomended (i.e: Centering, Pulling)
Description
Learn how to throw cylanders and pull handles in this two day mug workshop with Raquel Coburn!
Day one - Throwing
Students will wheel throw 4-6 cylindars, focusing on proper wall thickness, rim shaping, and formng a base suitable for trimming.
Day Two - Trimming & Handles
Students will learn how to trim their mugs and learn multiple handle making techniques including; Pulled, Coil, and slab built handles.
Glazing:
Students who are clay studio members may glaze their own mugs after class during open studio time. Non-member studens' mugs will be dipped in clear glaze by the instructor.
All work will be available for pickup within 3-4 weeks.
Artist Bio:
Raquel Coburn brings over 12 years of pottery experience to her classes and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics. Known for her expertise and approachable teaching style, Raquel has taught numerous workshops on a range of clay fundamentals and techniques, helping students of all levels find their creative potential. Whether you’re new to pottery or looking to refine your skills, Raquel’s patient guidance makes her classes both informative and enjoyable.
