About this Event

Your tour begins in the Tamar Bridge Office grounds, where you’ll uncover the fascinating story of the Saltash Ferry, explore the early days of the Cornwall Railway, and learn how the legendary engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel became involved.

From here, the group will walk across the Tamar Bridge, pausing at key points along the route to admire and hear about the remarkable Royal Albert Bridge—an iconic structure celebrated around the world for its unique design.

Reaching the Saltash tower, you’ll discover the significance of the Tamar Bridge itself, an engineering achievement that was just as groundbreaking in its time. The experience lasts approximately 90 minutes and concludes back at the Bridge Office car park.
