Alright Twisted 7 here are ALL the details for the 2026 Silver Lake Sand Dunes Jeep Invasion.When: The invasion will opens on Thursday May28, 2026 and runs through all day Saturday (Note: not much happens on Thursday except the first Sunset Cruise on the dunes, Friday and Saturday are full of events throughout the day with The Parade of Jeeps on Saturday Morning. Jeepers tend to stay through Saturday and take off Sunday morning)
Where: The Sand Dunes are located in Mears, MI. Mears is a very small town but it is dedicated to the Dunes and refer to itself as Dune Town.
What is Required to attend: If you want to go onto the Sand Dunes (and there is no reason not to as sand dunes is good for all models) you need to purchase the following:
• 2026 Jeep Invasion Window Sticker (Provided at Jeep
Registration and is only intended to allow you in the Jeep parade onto the Dunes Saturday morning)
• The Following Stickers are available online starting in March at:

- 2026 Michigan Recreation Passport/Non-Resident Sticker (Can be purchased online starting in March 1st)
- 2026 Michigan ORV Pass Sticker (Can be purchased online starting in March 1st)
- 2026 Michigan Trail Pass Sticker (Can be purchased online starting in March 1st)
• A Front Mounted SQUARE ORANGE Safety flag on a 10’ Pole (Pole and Flag can be purchased in several locations in Mears, temporary mounts and quick release mounts available)
• Tires aired down (Max fill 15PSI - this will be completed in Mears before going onto the Dunes)
• Front and Rear Recovery Points – I can’t promise you that you want get stuck in the sand at some point, it happens, just make sure you have recovery hooks/points on front and back of your Jeep so we can get you unstuck.
Recommend but not Required:
• Portable Compressor (There are a several areas to air up but as you can imagine during Jeep invasion it will be busy. Several other Jeepers will have them on hand and my be able to assist
• Tire Air Down Kit – (there will be plenty of Jeepers to help you out on this but a simple air down kit will be really helpful on this trip and any other off-road trip you go on). There is a wide range and price points on this based on how often you are going to air down. The following is an example of simple kit:

• Quick Disconnect for flag pole mounted to front bumper. This allows you to pop on/off 10’ flag pole in seconds versus dealing with temp fasteners. Here is the one I use and recommend:

• Kinetic Recovery Rope – Kinetic is the easiest and safest way to recover a Vehicle in the sand. Recommend if you don’t have one to be with a Jeep that does in case anyone gets stuck
Where to Stay: There are some local small hotels and many locations for camping and Airbnb. A group of us are always camping at Dune Town Camp Resort (Formally the Jellystone Campground) where we are able to park our Jeeps and walk to the Invasion Events also easy access to the “Chicken Shack.” I will post up a picture of the campground and spots that fellow Jeepers have already reserved in the commits. Silver Lake Jeep Invasion does have a registration. This is simply to get a sicker for your car to participate in the Jeep parade. Twisted 7 will meet up in Front of the Chicken Shack to line up and file into the Parade lineup. We then parade into the dunes where we all park at a base of a dune for Drone shots and a Jeep blessing. After the Jeep blessing we will break off and meet along Lake Michigan to do our annual group photo. Saturday morning which we always get together to do. You do not need to have a registration to be in Mears, MI or to go onto the Dunes as its a State Park and can't be restricted. I've always registered as it’s only one per Jeep fee and goes to help continue these Invasions in the future.
